2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report: IDL Zeandae Johnson

Zeandae Johnson aligned as a defensive lineman for the Golden Bears defense. He has aligned as an end but mainly plays the 3-technique. He demonstrates sufficient reactive athleticism in his initial get-off and in his closing quickness to the quarterback. For an under-bulked player, he plays with good strength at the point of attack. He has moments of disengaging with power and getting to the football. However, he has been really inconsistent in this aspect. He can cause disruption with his initial quickness when he penetrates the gaps. However, he has only had limited effectiveness as a pass rusher.

Ideal Role: PUDFA/Developmental player.

Scheme Fit: 4-3 defensive end, subpackage rusher.
